Watch Battery Replacement

Most batteries are replaced in a few minutes while you wait. If we need to order a battery, or the watch is hard to open, it's usually ready within 24 hours, with little or no extra charge.

Most Rolex watches are automatic (self-winding) and don't use a battery. For other luxury quartz watches, call ahead and we'll tell you whether we can do it. We may decline some makes and models because of how they're built.

We close the case with its original gasket, but we don't pressure-test water resistance. If your watch needs to be waterproof, such as a dive watch, mention it when you drop it off.

We handle every watch with care, but opening a case always carries some risk, especially with older watches whose gaskets, crystals or parts may have worn over time. Because we don't pressure-test the seal, we also can't guarantee it will keep water out once the watch leaves our store. For those reasons, Sunset Jewelry & Loan can't be held responsible for any damage that may occur during a battery replacement, or for water or other damage that happens after you pick up your watch.
